How do I create a Kodi log?
When you report a bug, it is always advised to upload your Kodi log file. The log file helps the developers identify and replacement the problems in order to fix them. Most bugs are nearly impossible to track without a log.

In order to create a log, follow these steps:

  • Activate debug logging: Kodi → Settings → System → Logging → Enable debug logging.
  • Redo all the actions in Gaia that caused to the problem at hand.
  • Find your log file and upload it as an attachment to the your bug reporting ticket.

The log files are located in various place on different operating systems:

  • Windows:
    • %APPDATA%\Kodi\kodi.log
    • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\kodi.log
  • Linux:
    • $HOME/.kodi/temp/kodi.log
    • /home/<user>/.kodi/temp/kodi.log
  • Android:
    • <data/sdcard/Android>/data/org.xbmc.kodi/cache/temp/kodi.log
    • /sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/temp/kodi.log
  • Mac:
    • /Users//Library/Logs/kodi.log
  • iOS:
    • /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/kodi.log
